Take A Look! - Ep.7
Our encounter with Boring Boring immediately struck us for the radical nature of its experimental approach. In particular, their latest publication offers a fascinating perspective on post-production, understood as a process of reinterpreting pre-existing materials through a universal lens. This innovative methodology follows the path blazed by visual artists such as Erik Kessels: the rare ability to take the private, intimate materials of others and assign them an immensely universal value We’ll leave you to their words… Boring Boring is an independent editorial project centered on books and printed matter. Each project starts from a specific interest, often something very focused or overlooked, and develops into a publication as a way to explore it more deeply. The aim is to give form to these interests through editing and sequencing, turning them into something that can be observed, collected and shared.
Unclaimed Memories is a book built around images that feel familiar, but can’t be traced back to anyone. They are fragments of everyday life, found, collected, or simply detached from their original context, that have lost their owner but not their emotional weight. The project doesn’t try to reconstruct stories. Instead, it focuses on that in-between condition, when something is no longer personal, but not completely neutral either.
